INTERFAITH YOUTH HOUSTON
Program Overview:
In 2018, JPB launched Interfaith Youth Houston (IYH) in Houston, TX as a way to engage local American Jewish, Christian, and Muslim teens with impactful leadership programming during the school year.
IYH models itself on being an interfaith youth group, that focuses on leadership training, interfaith understanding, and service through monthly meetings and workshops held across the City of Houston. Teens enjoy visits to local faith communities such as Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, and the El Farouq Mosque, and volunteer with non-profit organizations such as Houston Food Bank, Interfaith Ministries, Undies for Everyone, and The Beacon.
Throughout the program, youth have the opportunity to make new friends, learn about the three Abrahamic faiths, and participate in leadership and community service-projects. The program is free and all youth ages 11-18 are welcome to participate.
