LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
Program Overview:

The Leadership Institute is the fourth and final summer program in our leadership journey, held at the Northwest Academy of English in Derry, Northern Ireland, bringing together Arab, Jewish-Israeli, and American teens aged 17–18.
This culminating experience invites participants to step fully into their roles as leaders, community builders, and global citizens. They will be grounded in the relationships and skills developed over the previous years.

Set within Northern Irish society shaped by conflict and peacebuilding, participants explore the legacy of the Troubles and reflect on how identity, history, power, and belonging shape conflict and reconciliation.

Participants will learn about the rich and fascinating history of Northern Ireland, visit the cities of Derry and Belfast, meet with actors of the reconciliation process who are dedicated to building bridges beyond community lines. The group will also explore the coast of Northern Ireland and walk through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Giant’s Causeway.

Throughout the program, participants reflect on leadership, global solidarity, and social impact, connecting local and global struggles for peace and justice. By the end of the Leadership Institute, participants leave grounded in their shared identity as JPB participants, empowered to lead with purpose, care, and courage in their communities and beyond.
