JPB WELCOMES JERUSALEM DIRECTOR TO TEAM: New position supports surging demand for our programs

In September, JPB welcomed our new Jerusalem Regional Co-Director, Yardena Prawer, to the team. Yardena comes with an extensive background in peacebuilding, education, and group facilitation. She trained as a teacher with Teach First Israel (Hotam חותם) and has supported multiple youth movements. More recently, Yardena taught at the Ziv and Marks School in Jerusalem. She was also instrumental in establishing a pilot conflict resolution program for the Israeli Ministry of Education.

In her role with JPB, Yardena focuses on growing JPB's in-school programs in Jerusalem and Central Israel, as well as managing JPB's contact with the Municipality of Jerusalem on its Shared Learning Initiative, that pairs schools from West and East Jerusalem for leadership, peace education, and cross-cultural exchanges. Excited about her new responsibilities, Yardena shared these words:

"I am thrilled to be joining JPB and the critical cross-border work that it does in the region. This organization is a true example of the positive impact that education can have on young people's futures within a conflict zone. JPB plays a critical role in shaping the future political and social landscape by nurturing young leaders and creating a cohort of young people committed to peaceful and genuine change."
